Canton, Georgial – The very first reason of death for dogs isn’t trauma or disease, it’s euthanasia due to behavior problems. Over 5,000,000 dogs will be euthanized this year alone in the United States. It’s time for everyone to “bone up” on responsible dog ownership.

Every September the AKC® hosts Responsible Dog Ownership Day events to teach the dog-loving public about the importance of being a responsible dog owner. More than 500 AKC-affiliated clubs and other canine and pet organizations around the country participate by hosting events in their local communities. You can find these great events in your community by going to the AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day event webpage at www.akc.org/clubs/rdod/events and search for your local events.

In support of the AKC and to promote responsible dog ownership, Bruce and Robin Edwards, Master Trainers and Owners of Home Dog Training, are offering free dog safety workshops for any community-based organization, subject to availability. These free community workshops will give participants dog safety tips while helping them understand how to communicate more effectively with dogs by using natural methods their dogs uniquely understand. During the workshop, participants will learn how to recognize the signs of fear and aggression by reading a dog’s body language. In addition, the hour-long workshops will include important dog safety guidelines.

Organizations interested in scheduling a free workshop are invited to e-mail Bruce and Robin and include the name of the organization, ZIP code of the organization, a contact name, and phone number.

As Professional Dog Trainers and loving dog owners, Bruce and Robin Edwards are committed to helping people better understand how dogs think, act and communicate. Your best friend is counting on you.
